Where mind, body and spirit heal & restore
What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient practice of channeling energy through the palms in a gentle, non-invasive way. This vital spiritual energy helps activate the body’s natural healing processes, releasing physical and emotional blockages while bringing deep relaxation and calm.
In the early 20th century, while on a meditation retreat at Mt. Kurama, a sacred mountain in Kyoto Japan, Dr. Mikao Usui experienced Reiki energy and discovered how it enhanced his healing abilities.
The word Reiki comes from two Japanese terms: Rei (universal) and Ki (life force energy). Together, Reiki is often understood as universal life force energy. Use Reiki when your system needs healing & restoration.
How does Reiki Work?
Reiki works by increasing the “life force energy” that flows through us and around us and causes us to be alive. The life force is responsive to our thoughts or feelings and can become disrupted and diminished by negative thoughts or feelings, especially about ourselves. If this energy is low, we are at a higher risk of becoming sick or stressed. If our life force energy is high, we are more likely to be happy and healthy.
Reiki provides a positive boost of “KI” which raises the energy field’s vibratory level in and around the negatively affected areas of the body, causing negative energy to dissipate and fall away. Thus, Reiki restores the healthy, natural flow of the life force.
Why Reiki?
Reiki helps calm the nervous system by promoting deep relaxation, it shifts the body out of stress mode and into a state of rest and repair. This can reduce anxiety, ease muscle tension, improve sleep, and support overall physical balance through well-understood physiological mechanisms.
It also supports the body’s natural capacity to heal by reducing internal interference such as mental stress and emotional holding. Reiki creates a quiet, supportive space where awareness increases and the body can regulate itself more effectively. Many people experience emotional clarity or release as tension stored in the body softens.
Reiki is gentle, non-invasive, and low risk when practiced responsibly. It works well alongside conventional medical care and is accessible to people who may not tolerate more intense therapies. Whether understood as nervous system regulation, embodied awareness, or relaxation, clarity, and improved well-being, it’s are real and meaningful.
Reiki Sessions
An in-person Reiki healing session involves a practitioner lightly placing hands on or above a fully clothed person's body to direct universal life force energy, promoting deep relaxation, stress reduction, emotional healing, and overall balance. During the session, the client lies on a table, and the practitioner moves through various hand positions on specific energy centers or chakras. Sensation may vary, with some reporting warmth or tingling, but deep relaxation is a common experience.
A distance Reiki healing session is beneficial if you are unable to attend in person or when you and your practitioner are in different locations. People are often busy, under the weather, or in need of Reiki immediately. In these cases, Reiki can be sent across distances from the practitioner to the client. Your practitioner will focus on a photograph of you and will utilize sacred Reiki symbols which connect energy from the practitioner to the client. Distance Reiki healing is set up for a time when the client is in a safe, relaxed space and comfortable position.
A Reiki anytime session can be scheduled with no need to meet virtually once the client has provided the necessary information to the practitioner. Reiki is sent at the time when its needed for convenience and or difficulty to meet virtually.
